Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
-
Hot Yoga is yoga practised in our heated studio at around 37°C. The warmth helps you move more freely, ease into stretches and fully switch off from the outside world.
Expect a mix of strength, mobility, balance and breathwork, with options for all levels.
The warmth helps prepare the body for movement, supports mobility and flexibility, and creates a focused, immersive experience that many people find easier to switch off in than a traditional yoga class.
Many people use Hot Yoga alongside activities such as running, strength training, cycling and golf to support recovery, improve mobility and move more efficiently.
-
Hot Pilates is a full-body workout performed in our heated studio at around 37°C. Expect a mix of core work, strength training and low-impact cardio designed to leave you feeling strong, energised and accomplished.
Hot Pilates can be a great complement to other forms of exercise, helping to build core strength, improve posture and support overall movement and performance.
-
The heat adds a completely different dimension to your practice. Many people find they move more freely, warm up more quickly and feel more focused throughout class.
A heated environment can help:
Improve mobility and range of motion
Prepare muscles and joints for movement
Build strength and endurance
Encourage focus and mindfulness
Leave you feeling energised and refreshed afterwards
Many members tell us they simply love the feeling of moving, sweating and switching off from the outside world.
-
Not at all. Many people come to their first class with little or no experience. Our teachers offer options throughout class so you can work at your own pace.
-
Definitely. You don't need to be flexible to start Yoga & Pilates—you become more flexible and mobile by doing it.

A light meal or snack an hour or two before class usually works best. Most people prefer not to practise on a completely full stomach.
Health & Safety
-
Yes. Many people come to Sweat Lab with little or no previous experience of yoga or Pilates.
Our teachers offer options throughout class and encourage you to work at your own pace. The goal isn't to keep up with anyone else—it's to move in a way that feels right for your body.
If you're new to heated classes, you may find it takes a couple of sessions to adjust to the warmth, but most people quickly find their confidence and settle into the experience.
-
We do not recommend attending heated classes while pregnant.
If you are pregnant and considering hot yoga or Pilates, we recommend seeking advice from your healthcare professional and speaking directly with the teacher before booking.
-
Can I attend if I have an injury or medical condition?
In many cases, yes. Yoga and Pilates can often be adapted to suit different bodies, abilities and experience levels.
If you have an injury, medical condition or any concerns about participating, please let your teacher know before class. They may be able to offer modifications to help you practise safely and comfortably.
As a minimum, you should be able to comfortably weight bear through your wrists for most classes.
If you're unsure whether a heated class is suitable for you, we recommend seeking advice from your healthcare professional before attending.
